It is shocking that so many people must live in dismal and dangerous homes because they cannot afford even a basic amount of energy. Over a quarter of a million people will likely ask us for emergency help this winter to keep their lights, power, and heating on because they must prepay for energy but cannot afford to, and the harsh reality is that without funding like this, people would have to go cold and hungry in the UK.

It allows us to help households in fuel crisis, both in the short and long-term, through the provision of same-day emergency fuel vouchers to get the lights, heat and power back on and practicable help and advice to prevent households falling into fuel crisis in the future.”
