Over the past few weeks, saucy chicken chain Zaxby’s® has added two new franchise stores to its network of more than 940 locations across 19 different states. While Zaxby’s franchise locations have spread beyond the Southeast, the company is still headquartered in Athens, Georgia, so it’s only natural that the Peach State also serves as the backdrop for the latest franchise locations.
First up is a new Zaxby’s franchise in Pooler — the town’s second location — that started serving dine-in and drive-thru favorites like Chicken Fingerz™, Zax Sauce®, and the award-winning Signature Sandwich and Fried Pickles as of Aug. 28. In announcing the opening of SSR Savannah LLC’s newest restaurant in town, company principal Scott Roberts said, “We have always been dedicated to sharing the indescribably good taste of Zaxby’s chicken with our local community. As the owner and operator of seven locations in Georgia, including our second Zaxby’s in Pooler, we have remained committed to our mission.”
And, in keeping with that aim, Roberts’ latest Zaxby’s location is following the traditional, 3400-square-foot farmhouse-style model, with indoor seating for up to 56 guests, three separate self-serve Coca-Cola legacy machines, and a double-drive-thru layout — complete with new digital menu boards — so guests can enjoy faster service and an expedited payment and pickup process.
In Good Company
In addition to the new Zaxby’s franchise in Pooler, CMB Foods Inc. opened a new location 200 miles across the state in Covington — the company’s fourth in town — back on Aug. 21.
Brad Dailey, who owns CMB Foods’ parent company, said, “We opened our first Zaxby’s in Covington over 20 years ago. It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come since then and the growth we’ve experienced.” Like the new Pooler location, the latest Zaxby’s in Covington will offer dine-in seating for up to 56 guests along with pick-up and delivery options via DoorDash, Grubhub, and UberEats. To speed up every aspect of the Zaxby’s experience, this location will also feature a double-drive-thru layout and those brand-new digital menu boards. And, while he’s already served the town with his other Zaxby’s locations, Dailey says of his latest franchise opening, “Covington is like family to us, and we’re extremely honored to continue providing great food, friendly service, and giving back to the community.”
